A couple of words about privacy
The One Minute Diary iOS app is built with your privacy in mind. A diary is a very
personal matter.
That's why no data is shared with us or any third parties. None of your behavior is
tracked.
By using this website and the One Minute Diary iOS app, you are agreeing to this privacy
policy.
Where your memories are stored
The app relies on Apple's Core Data framework to store your data locally on your device
in the app's container.
In a future release, it might be possible to enable syncing your memories to your
private iCloud storage.
This will be an optional feature that can be disabled in the settings.
The image and audio files that you attach to a memory are also stored locally in the
app's container.
You can choose to additionally save photos to your device's gallery if you take a photo
while using the app.
That feature can be enabled and disabled in the app's settings.
Tracking and Analytics
No analytics or tracking data is collected.
Third-party services
No third-party services are used.
Export and import feature (backup)
Your memories are personal, delicate and valuable. That's why the One Minute Diary iOS
app offers an import/export backup feature. It is recommended to use the "export"
feature to create a backup every now and then. This exports all of the memories that you
created as a ".omdbackup" file that you can store anywhere you like. The backup includes
all memories and all photos and audio files that you attached to those memories.
You can create unencrypted and encrypted backups. If you choose to encrypt your backup,
you have to set a password of at least 8 characters. That password will then be required
to restore from the encrypted backup ("import" feature). If you encrypt your backup and
you forget your password, you will not be able to restore your memories. There is no
recovery for a forgotten password. Alternatively, you can create an unencrypted backup
which will not require a password. However, if somebody gains access to an unencrypted
backup file, that person will be able to restore your memories. That's why it is
recommended to create a password-protected encrypted backup.
